About Judge Wilson

Judge Wilson is running for Flathead County District Court, Department 2. He hopes to occupy the position currently held by retiring District Judge Katherine R. Curtris.

Here is a bit of Judge Wilson's background. His parents grew up in Malta, Montana, and he was born in Billings in 1964. He graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1993 and came home to Montana where he worked as a Deputy County Attorney in Great Falls, Chinook, and Kalispell. He opened his own law practice in 1998 in Kalispell and was a partner in the law firm of Measure & Wilson, P.C. at the time of his election in 2010 as Flathead County Justice of the Peace, Department 1.

In the Justice Court, Judge Wilson has demonstrated his initiative and work ethic by clearing up an existing backlog of cases within his first 10 months on the bench and by streamlining the process of scheduling trials. And he has strived to apply the law fairly and appropriately in each case that comes before him.

Judge Wilson resides near Kalispell with his wife, Tia, and their daughter. They are active members of Kalispell's Presbyterian Church. Judge Wilson is a member and former president of the Rotary Club of Kalispell Daybreak.
